ബോംബ് വെക്കുന്ന ദേശസ്നേഹി

അമേരിക്കയിൽ കഴിഞ്ഞ ആഴ്ചയിൽ പുറത്തുവന്ന ഒരു അഭിപ്രായ സർവ്വേ ഫലം അസ്വാസ്ഥ്യം ഉളവാക്കുന്നതാണ്. രാജ്യത്തെ “രക്ഷിക്കാൻ” രാഷ്ട്രീയ അക്രമങ്ങൾ നടത്തുന്നതിനെ അമേരിക്കക്കാരിൽ നാലിൽ ഒരാൾ ന്യായീകരിക്കുന്നു. ഈ വീക്ഷണം വച്ചുപുലർത്തുന്നവരുടെ അനുപാതം വീണ്ടും ജനനം പ്രാപിച്ച വെള്ളക്കാരായ സുവിശേഷാനുസരികളിൽ മറ്റു വിഭാഗങ്ങളെ അപേക്ഷിച്ചു കൂടുതലാണ് എന്നും സർവ്വേഫലം സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. അമേരിക്കൻ മൂല്യങ്ങളെ സംബന്ധിച്ചു നടത്തിയ അഭിപ്രായ സർവ്വേയിൽ മുൻ പ്രസിഡന്റ് ട്രംപിനോട് അനുകൂല കാഴ്ചപ്പാടുള്ള അമേരിക്കക്കാരിൽ 41% ആളുകൾ രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ മൂല്യസംരക്ഷണത്തിനായി വേണ്ടിവന്നാൽ ആയുധം എടുക്കാൻ തയ്യാറാണ്. “യഥാർത്ഥ അമേരിക്കൻ ദേശസ്നേഹികൾ ” തങ്ങളാണെന്ന് അവകാശപ്പെടുന്ന വെള്ളക്കാരായ ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികൾ കുടിയേറ്റക്കാരെ “ഒരു അധിനിവേശ ശക്തിയായി” കാണുന്നു. തങ്ങളുടെ തൊലിനിറമോ മതവീക്ഷണമോ രാഷ്ട്രീയ കാഴ്ചപ്പാടുകളോ ഇല്ലാത്ത കുടിയേറ്റക്കാർ അമേരിക്കൻ മൂല്യങ്ങൾക്ക് ഭീഷണി ഉയർത്തുന്നുവെന്നും അവർ കരുതുന്നു. അമേരിക്കയെ യൂറോപ്യൻ ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികളുടെ വാഗ്ദത്ത ഭൂമിയായിരിക്കാനാണ് ദൈവം ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചതെന്നു വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവരാണ് വെള്ളക്കാരായ ക്രിസ്ത്യൻ ദേശീയവാദികൾ. ദൈവഹിതപ്രകാരം രാജ്യം തങ്ങൾക്കു അവകാശപ്പെട്ടതാണെന്നും ആ ദർശനത്തെ സംരക്ഷിക്കാൻ അക്രമത്തിന്റെ മാർഗ്ഗങ്ങൾ അവലംബിക്കേണ്ടിവന്നേക്കാം എന്നും അവർ വാദിക്കുന്നു.
കളമശ്ശേരിയിൽ യഹോവാ സാക്ഷികളുടെ കൺവെൻഷനിൽ ബോംബ് സ്ഫോടനം നടത്തിയ ഡൊമിനിക് മാർട്ടിനും താൻ രാജ്യസ്നേഹം കൊണ്ടാണതു ചെയ്തത്‌ എന്നു അവകാശപ്പെടുകയുണ്ടായി. യഹോവാസാക്ഷികളുടെ പഠിപ്പിക്കലുകൾ ദേശീയവിരുദ്ധമാണെന്നും അത്തരം ഒരു വിഭാഗത്തിന് നമ്മുടെ രാജ്യത്ത് സ്ഥാനമില്ലെന്നു താൻ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു എന്നും ഫേസ്ബുക്ക് ലൈവിലൂടെ മാർട്ടിൻ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തി. വോട്ട് ചെയ്യരുത്, പട്ടാളത്തിൽ ചേരരുത്, സർക്കാർ ജോലി സ്വീകരിക്കരുത് തുടങ്ങിയ രാജ്യത്തിന് അപകടകരമായ ആശയങ്ങൾ പ്രചരിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനെതിരെ താൻ പലവട്ടം മുന്നറിയിപ്പുകൾ നൽകിയിട്ടും സഭ അതെല്ലാം അവഗണിച്ചതായും അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു.
എന്താണ് അമേരിക്കയിലെ വെളുത്ത ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികളും ഡേവിഡ് മാർട്ടിനും പറഞ്ഞുവെക്കുന്ന ദേശസ്നേഹം? സ്വന്തം ആശയങ്ങളും അഭിപ്രായങ്ങളും മറ്റുള്ളവരുടെ മേൽ അടിച്ചേൽപ്പിക്കുന്നതാണോ? എതിരഭിപ്രായമുള്ളവരെ ഇല്ലാതാക്കുകയാണോ? ഏതെങ്കിലും ഒരു രാഷ്ട്രീയ നേതാവിനെയോ പാർട്ടിയെയോ ചോദ്യം ചെയ്യാതെ അന്ധമായി പിന്തുണക്കുക എന്നതാണോ? രാജ്യത്തിൻറെ അഭിവൃദ്ധി പങ്കിടുന്നതിൽ നിന്നും ചില വിഭാഗങ്ങളെ ഒഴിവാക്കുന്നതോ? അതോ, രാജ്യത്തിൻറെ അടിസ്ഥാനതത്വങ്ങളായ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം, നീതി, തുല്യത എന്നിവയുടെ യഥാർത്ഥ ചൈതന്യം എല്ലാവർക്കും ഉറപ്പാക്കുക എന്നതോ? നിറം, ജാതി, വംശം, മതം, ഭാഷ, കക്ഷി രാഷ്ട്രീയം എന്നിവ കണക്കിലെടുക്കാതെ സഹപൗരന്മാരുടെ മെച്ചപ്പെട്ട ഭാവിക്കായി സജീവമായി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുകയും എല്ലാവരുടെയും ഐക്യവും പുരോഗതിയും നന്മയും ആഗ്രഹിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതാണു യഥാർത്ഥ ദേശസ്നേഹം. ഭയാശങ്കകൾ ഇല്ലാതെ തങ്ങളുടെ വിശ്വാസങ്ങൾ വെച്ചുപുലർത്താനുള്ള മറ്റുള്ളവരുടെ അവകാശത്തെ ബഹുമാനിക്കുക എന്നുമാണ് ഇതിനർത്ഥം.
അമേരിക്കൻ മൂല്യങ്ങൾ, ഭാരതീയ സംസ്കാരം എന്നിവയെല്ലാം മാറ്റത്തിനു വിധേയമാണ്. വ്യക്‌തിപരമായ ആദർശങ്ങൾ, കുടുംബ മൂല്യങ്ങൾ, സാമൂഹ്യ മാനദണ്ഡങ്ങൾ, രാഷ്ട്രീയ പെരുമാറ്റച്ചട്ടങ്ങൾ എന്നിവയെല്ലാം കാലാനുശ്രുതമായി മാറിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ചലനാത്മക സ്വഭാവമുള്ളവയാണ്. സമൂഹത്തിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനശിലകളിലോ മതങ്ങളുടെ മൗലിക ഉപദേശങ്ങളിലോ മാറ്റങ്ങൾ സംഭവിക്കാറില്ല, എന്നാൽ ആചാരാനുഷ്ടാനങ്ങളിലും പ്രവർത്തന രീതികളിലും ജനങ്ങളുടെ ചിന്താഗതിയിലും മാറ്റങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാകാം. അറുപതോ എഴുപതോ വർഷങ്ങൾക്കു മുൻപുള്ള കുടുംബ സംവിധാനമോ സാഹചര്യമോ അല്ല ഇന്നുള്ളത്. സാമ്രാജ്യത്വത്തിന്റെയും കമ്മ്യൂണിസത്തിന്റെയും തകർച്ച, ഇന്ത്യൻ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യ ലബ്ധി, അമേരിക്കയിലെ പൗരാവകാശനീയമങ്ങൾ, സ്ത്രീവിദ്യാഭ്യാസം, തൊഴിൽ മേഖലയിലേക്കുള്ള സ്ത്രീകളുടെ കടന്നുകയറ്റം, മുതലായവ കുടുംബങ്ങളിലും സമൂഹത്തിലും തൊഴിൽ മേഖലയിലും വരുത്തിയ മാറ്റങ്ങൾ വളരെ വലുതാണ്. പരിസ്ഥിതി പ്രസ്ഥാനം, കുടുംബാസൂത്രണം, മെഡിക്കൽ മുന്നേറ്റങ്ങൾ, വിവര സാങ്കേതികരംഗത്തെ വളർച്ച, സോഷ്യൽ മീഡിയയുടെ സ്വാധീനം എന്നിവയെല്ലാം ഈ മാറ്റത്തിന് ആക്കം കൂട്ടി. അടുത്തകാലത്തായി സമൂഹത്തെ ആകമാനം മാറ്റിമറിച്ച സംഭവമായിരുന്നു കോവിഡ് മഹാമാരി. മനുഷ്യന്റെ ക്ഷണികത തുറന്നു കാട്ടിത്തന്ന കോവിഡ് അവന്റെ ജീവിത രീതിയെ മാറ്റിമറിക്കുകയും ആരോഗ്യം, സാമൂഹിക വ്യവസ്ഥകള്‍, വിശ്വാസം, സാമ്പത്തികം മുതലായവയെ സംബന്ധിച്ച ധാരണകളെ തിരുത്തിക്കുറിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. ജോലിചെയ്യാൻ ഓഫീസിലോ പ്രസംഗം കേൾക്കാൻ പള്ളിയിലോ ഡോക്ടറെ കാണാൻ ആശുപത്രിയിലോ പോകേണ്ട ആവശ്യമില്ല എന്നു തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞ നാളുകൾ. ബന്ധുക്കൾ ആരും സംബന്ധിച്ചില്ലെങ്കിലും വിവാഹവും ശവസംസ്കാരവും ഉൾപ്പെടെയുള്ള ചടങ്ങുകൾ നടത്താൻ സാധിക്കുമെന്നും മനസ്സിലാക്കിത്തന്നു, കോവിഡ് കാലഘട്ടം.
സമൂഹത്തിൽ എക്കാലത്തും മാറ്റങ്ങൾ അനിവാര്യമാണ്; എന്നാൽ പലർക്കും അതുമായി പൊരുത്തപ്പെടാനോ അതിനോടു ക്രീയാത്മകമായി പ്രതികരിക്കാനോ കഴിയാതെ പോകുന്നു. അമേരിക്കയെ പഴയ പ്രതാപത്തിലേക്കു വീണ്ടും കൊണ്ടുപോകുമെന്നു (Make America Great Again) ട്രംപ് പറയുമ്പോൾ അതിനു സുവിശേഷവിഹിത സഭകളിലെ വെള്ളക്കാരായ പുരുഷന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിൽ വലിയ സ്വീകാര്യത ലഭിക്കുന്നതിനു കാരണവും ഇതാണ്. “പഴയ പ്രതാപകാലം” എന്ന് അവർ ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നത് 1950കളിലെ അമേരിക്ക എന്നാണ്. വർണവിവേചനം നിലവിലിരുന്ന, കറുത്തവർക്കും വെളുത്തവർക്കും വെവ്വേറെ ഇരിപ്പിടങ്ങളും സ്കൂളുകളും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ഒരു കാലം. പൗരാവകാശ നിയമമോ ന്യൂനപക്ഷങ്ങൾക്കു വോട്ടവകാശമോ ഇല്ലാതിരുന്ന കാലം. കുടിയേറ്റനിയമങ്ങൾ കർക്കശമായിരുന്ന, മിശ്രവിവാഹം നീയമവിരുദ്ധമായിരുന്ന സമയം. അക്കാലത്തു സ്ത്രീകൾ പ്രസവിക്കാനും കുടുംബം പുലർത്താനും മാത്രം വിധിക്കപ്പെട്ടു വീടിനുള്ളിൽ ഒതുങ്ങിക്കഴിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു. കറുത്തവരെയും സ്പാനിഷ്‌കാരെയും യഹൂദന്മാരെയും ഏഷ്യക്കാരെയും നിന്ദ്യമായ വാക്കുകൾ ഉപയോഗിച്ചാണു വെള്ളക്കാർ അന്ന് വിളിച്ചിരുന്നത്. കേരളത്തിലും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു അങ്ങനെ ഒരു കാലഘട്ടം. ജാതിപ്പേര് വിളിച്ചിരുന്ന കാലം. പട്ടികജാതി-പട്ടികഗോത്രവര്‍ഗ്ഗ സംവരണം നിലവിലില്ലാതിരുന്ന സമയം. സ്ത്രീസുരക്ഷ നിയമത്തിന്റെ അഭാവത്തിൽ സ്ത്രീകളുടെ ശരീരത്തിൽ അവരുടെ അനുവാദമില്ലാതെ കടന്നുപിടിച്ചിരുന്നു പുരുഷന്മാർ. ഇപ്പോൾ കാലം മാറി, നീയമങ്ങൾ മാറി, സമൂഹത്തിന്റെ കാഴ്ചപ്പാടിൽ മാറ്റങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടായി. എന്നാൽ, ദീർഘകാലത്തെ പോരാട്ടങ്ങളുടെ ഫലമായി നേടിയെടുത്ത പുരോഗതിയെ പിന്നോട്ടടിക്കുന്ന, പിന്തിരിപ്പൻ ആശയങ്ങൾ കൊണ്ടുനടക്കുന്ന, നിരവധിപ്പേർ ഇന്നും സമൂഹത്തിലുണ്ട്. അങ്ങനെയുള്ളവർ “മൂല്യ സംരക്ഷണത്തിനായി” വികലമായ രാജ്യസ്നേഹത്തിന്റെ പേരുപറഞ്ഞ്‌ ആയുധമെടുത്തു അക്രമത്തിനു ഇറങ്ങിപുറപ്പെടുന്നത് അപകടമാണ്.
