നെയ്യാറ്റിന്‍കരയിലുള്ള ചെങ്കല്‍ ശിവക്ഷേത്രം എന്ന പേരില്‍ പ്രസിദ്ധമായ മഹേശ്വരം ശ്രീ ശിവപാര്‍വ്വതി ക്ഷേത്രത്തില്‍ പുതുപ്പള്ളി എംഎല്‍എ ചാണ്ടി ഉമ്മന് പഞ്ചസാരകൊണ്ട് തുലാഭാരം നടത്തി. ക്ഷേത്രത്തില്‍ പുതുതായി നിര്‍മ്മിക്കുന്ന ദേവലോകത്തിന്റെ ശിലാസ്ഥാപന കര്‍മ്മത്തില്‍ മുഖ്യ അതിഥിയായി എത്തിയപ്പോഴാണ് തുലാഭാരം നടത്തിയത്. തുടർന്ന് പൊൻവിളയിലെ വ്യാകുലമാതാ കുരിശടിയിൽ എത്തി ചാണ്ടി ഉമ്മൻ മെഴുകുതിരി കത്തിച്ച് പ്രാർഥിച്ചു. കന്യാകുമാരി വിവേകാനന്ദ സ്മാരകവും മുളകുംമൂട്, തിരുവിതാംകോട് പള്ളികളും അദ്ദേഹം സന്ദർശിക്കയുണ്ടായി. ഒരു തികഞ്ഞ ക്രിസ്തുവിശ്വാസിയായ ചാണ്ടി ഉമ്മെന്റെ ഈ നടപടി ക്രൈസ്തവ വിശ്വാസ സമൂഹത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിട്ടുള്ള ചിന്താക്കുഴപ്പം ചെറുതല്ല. യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് പറയുകയും ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ തുലാഭാരം നടത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു ശരിയാണോ എന്ന സംശയമാണ് ജനങ്ങൾക്കുള്ളത്. എന്നാൽ തന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ശവസംസ്കാര ശുശ്രൂഷാവേളയിൽ ചാണ്ടി ഉമ്മൻ നടത്തിയ പ്രസ്‌താവന കേട്ടിട്ടുള്ളവർക്കു അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഈ നടപടിയിൽ അത്ഭുതമൊന്നും തോന്നാൻ ഇടയില്ല. അന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കുകൾ ഇങ്ങനെയാണ്:- “എന്റെ പിതാവിനെയുൾപ്പെടെ ഞങ്ങളെ ദൈവവിശ്വാസത്തിൽ, യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിലുള്ള വിശ്വാസത്തിൽ, വളർത്തിയത് ഞങ്ങളുടെ മാതാവാണ്. അതുകൊണ്ടാണ് ഞങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നതു ജീവിച്ചാലും മരിച്ചാലും ഞങ്ങൾ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിനുള്ളവരാണ്. അതുപോലെ തന്നെ ഞങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന മറ്റൊരു കാര്യമുണ്ട് ഏതു മതത്തിൽപ്പെട്ട വ്യക്തി മരിച്ചാലും ദൈവത്തിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവരാണെങ്കിൽ അവർ ജീവിക്കുന്നു എന്നതാണ്”. ക്രിസ്ത്യാനി ആയാലും ഹിന്ദുവായാലും മുസ്ലിമായാലും ദൈവത്തിൽ വിശ്വസിച്ചാൽ അവർ നിത്യജീവന് അവകാശികൾ ആകുമെന്നാണ് അന്ന് ചാണ്ടി ഉമ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞുവെച്ചത്. ഈ ദൈവ സങ്കല്പം എന്താണ് എന്നതാണ് പ്രസക്തമായ ചോദ്യം.
ബാംഗ്ളൂരിലുള്ള ഫാദർ ഡോ. മനോജ് എന്ന ആംഗ്ലിക്കൻ സഭാ വൈദീകൻ ശബരിമല ദർശനത്തിന് പുറപ്പെടാൻ വൃതം എടുക്കുന്നു എന്ന വാർത്തയും ഇതിനോട് ചേർത്ത് വായിക്കേണ്ടതുണ്ട്. ഈ മാസം ഇരുപതിന് തിരുമല മഹാദേവ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ കെട്ടുനിറച്ച് ശബരിമലയ്ക്ക് പുറപ്പെടാനാണ് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ തീരുമാനം. പൗരോഹിത്യം ആജീവനാന്തം നിലനിൽക്കുന്നതാണെന്നതിനാൽ ഫാദർ മനോജിന്റെ വൈദിക പദവി റദ്ദാക്കാൻ സഭക്ക് അധികാരം ഇല്ലെന്നും എന്നാൽ ശുശ്രൂഷചെയ്യാനുള്ള അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ലൈസൻസ് തിരികെ വാങ്ങുകയാണെന്നും ആംഗ്ളിക്കൻ സഭാനേതൃത്വം അറിയിച്ചു. ഇതിനോടുള്ള ഫാദർ ഡോ. മനോജിന്റെ പ്രതികരണം ഇങ്ങനെയായിരുന്നു: “ഞാനല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊരു ദൈവം നിനക്കു ഉണ്ടാകരുതു എന്നത് പഴയ നിയമത്തിലെ കൽപ്പനയാണ്. പുതിയ നിയമത്തിൽ യേശു നൽകിയതു രണ്ടു കൽപ്പനകളാണ്. പ്രപഞ്ച സ്രഷ്ടാവായ ദൈവത്തെ പൂർണ്ണ ഹൃദയത്തോടും പൂർണ്ണ മനസ്സോടും പൂർണ്ണ ആത്മാവോടും നീ സ്‌നേഹിക്കണം എന്നതാണ് ആദ്യത്തെ കല്പന. ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികൾ ചർച്ചിലും ഹൈന്ദവർ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലും ഇസ്ലാം മത വിശ്വാസികൾ മോസ്‌ക്കുകളിലും ആരാധിക്കുന്നത് ആ ദൈവത്തെ തന്നെയാണ്”.
ചാണ്ടി ഉമ്മനും മനോജ് അച്ചനും അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ദൈവസങ്കല്പത്തിൽ അടിസ്ഥാനപരമായ ചില ന്യൂനതകൾ ഉണ്ട്. “പ്രപഞ്ചസൃഷ്ടാവായ ദൈവത്തെ” എല്ലാ മതങ്ങളും അംഗീകരിക്കുന്നു. ഒരുതരത്തിൽ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ മറ്റൊരു തരത്തിൽ ലോകത്തിലെ എല്ലാ മതങ്ങളും ജഗന്നിയന്താവായ സർവ്വേശ്വരനിലേക്കു മനുഷ്യനെ നയിക്കുന്നു എന്നതു സത്യമാണ്. അപ്പോസ്തലനായ പൗലോസ് അതിനെക്കുറിച്ച് ഇങ്ങനെ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു: “അവന്റെ (ദൈവത്തിന്റെ) നിത്യശക്തിയും ദിവ്യത്വവുമായി അവന്റെ അദൃശ്യലക്ഷണങ്ങൾ ലോകസൃഷ്ടിമുതൽ അവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികളാൽ ബുദ്ധിക്കു തെളിവായി വെളിപ്പെട്ടുവരുന്നു; അവർ ദൈവത്തെ അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടും അവനെ ദൈവമെന്നു ഓർത്തു മഹത്വീകരിക്കയോ നന്ദി കാണിക്കയോ ചെയ്യാതെ തങ്ങളുടെ നിരൂപണങ്ങളിൽ വ്യർത്ഥരായിത്തീർന്നു, അവരുടെ വിവേകമില്ലാത്ത ഹൃദയം ഇരുണ്ടുപോയി. ജ്ഞാനികൾ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടു അവർ മൂഢരായിപ്പോയി; അക്ഷയനായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ തേജസ്സിനെ അവർ ക്ഷയമുള്ള മനുഷ്യൻ, പക്ഷി, നാൽക്കാലി, ഇഴജാതി എന്നിവയുടെ രൂപസാദൃശ്യമായി മാറ്റിക്കളഞ്ഞു”. (റോമർ 1:20 -23). ഇവിടെയാണ് മതങ്ങൾക്ക് തെറ്റുപറ്റിയത്. പ്രപഞ്ചത്തിലൂടെ അവർക്കു വെളിപ്പെട്ടു കിട്ടിയ ദൈവത്തോടുള്ള സമീപനത്തിൽ അവർക്കു വീഴ്ചയുണ്ടായി. ദൈവത്തെ കണ്ടെത്തിയെങ്കിലും ദൈവവുമായി ശരിയായ ബന്ധം പുലർത്താൻ കഴിയാതെവന്നു. മനുഷ്യരുടെ പാപം ക്ഷമിക്കുവാനും അവരെ ദൈവമുൻപാകെ നീതിമാന്മാരായി നിർത്തുവാനും മതങ്ങൾക്കു കഴിയില്ല.. ഇവിടെയാണ് യേശു ക്രിസ്തുവിലുള്ള വിശ്വാസം അനിവാര്യമാകുന്നത്. പ്രപഞ്ചസൃഷ്ടാവായ ദൈവത്തിൽ വിശ്വസിച്ചാൽ പോരാ, ഏക രക്ഷകനായ കർത്താവായ യേശുവിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കണം. എങ്കിൽ മാത്രമേ ദൈവ മുൻപാകെ നിൽക്കുവാൻ സാധ്യമാകയുള്ളൂ. യൂദായുടെ ലേഖനത്തിൽ പറയുന്നതുപോലെ- “വീഴാതവണ്ണം നിങ്ങളെ സൂക്ഷിച്ചു, തന്റെ മഹിമാസന്നിധിയിൽ കളങ്കമില്ലാത്തവരായി ആനന്ദത്തോടെ നിറുത്തുവാൻ ശക്തിയുള്ളവൻ”. അവനിലൂടെ നമുക്കു ദൈവ സന്നിധിയിൽ കളങ്കമില്ലാത്തവരായി നിൽക്കാൻ സാധിക്കുന്നു. ദൈവവുമായി ശരിയായ ബന്ധമുള്ളവരുടെ ആരാധനയും സ്തുതികളും മാത്രമേ ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ സ്വീകാര്യമാവുകയുള്ളൂ.
ഏതു മതത്തിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നതിനും ആചരിക്കുന്നതിനും പ്രചരിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനുമുള്ള സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം ഓരോ ഇന്ത്യൻ പൗരനും ഉണ്ട്. അതുകൊണ്ടു തന്നെ ചാണ്ടി ഉമ്മനോ ഫാദർ മനോജിനോ എന്തുവേണമെങ്കിലും വിശ്വസിക്കാം, ആചരിക്കാം. യേശു ക്രിസ്തുവിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന ഒരാൾക്ക് മറ്റു മതങ്ങളോട് ഏതെങ്കിലും രീതിയിലുള്ള വൈരാഗ്യമോ ശത്രുതയോ പുലർത്തേണ്ട ആവശ്യമില്ല. തെരെഞ്ഞെടുപ്പുവേളയിൽ മത നേതാക്കളെ കണ്ടു വോട്ട് ചോദിക്കുന്നത് എല്ലാ സ്ഥാനാർഥികളുടെയും പതിവാണ്. അങ്ങനെയുള്ളവർ മെത്രാന്മാരെയും പെന്തെക്കോസ്ത് പാസ്റ്റർമാരെയും കാണാൻ എത്താറുണ്ട്, പാസ്റ്റർമാർ അവരുടെ വിജയത്തിനായി പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുകയും അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുകയും ഭൂരിപക്ഷം പ്രവചിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതും നമ്മൾ കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. ചാണ്ടി ഉമ്മൻ യേശു ലോകരക്ഷകനാണ് എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞപ്പോഴും ഗണേഷ്‌കുമാർ ‘ഞാൻ യേശുവിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു’ എന്നു വെളുപ്പെടുത്തിയപ്പോഴും എല്ലാദിവസവും താൻ ബൈബിൾ വായിക്കാറുണ്ടെന്നു വി.ഡി. സതീശൻ പ്രസ്താവിച്ചപ്പോഴും “ഹല്ലെലുയ്യ” പറഞ്ഞ ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികൾ മറിച്ചുചിലതു കേൾക്കുമ്പോൾ അസ്വസ്ഥരാവേണ്ടതില്ല. എല്ലാം രാഷ്ട്രീയക്കാരുടെ അടവു നയങ്ങൾ. അപ്പോസ്തോലനായ പൗലോസ് പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ “യെഹൂദന്മാരെ നേടേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ യെഹൂദന്മാർക്കു യെഹൂദനെപ്പോലെ ആയി; ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൻ കീഴുള്ളവരെ നേടേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൻ കീഴുള്ളവൻ അല്ല എങ്കിലും ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൻ കീഴുള്ളവർക്കു ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൻ കീഴുള്ളവനെപ്പോലെ ആയി….ബലഹീനന്മാരെ നേടേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ ബലഹീനർക്കു ബലഹീനനായി; ഏതുവിധത്തിലും ചിലരെ രക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ എല്ലാവർക്കും എല്ലാമായിത്തീർന്നു”. ജാതികളുടെ അപോസ്തലനാണ് എന്ന് അവകാശപ്പെടുമ്പോഴും വിശ്വാസികൾ യഹൂദമര്യാദകൾ അനുഷ്ഠിക്കേണ്ട ആവശ്യമില്ല എന്ന് പ്രസംഗിക്കുമ്പോഴും പൗലോസ് ന്യായപ്രമാണപ്രകാരമുള്ള യഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ശുദ്ധീകരണനീയമങ്ങളും നേർച്ചകളും അർപ്പിച്ചതായി നാം വായിക്കുന്നു. “നേർച്ചയുള്ള നാലു പുരുഷന്മാർ ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഉണ്ടു. അവരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു അവരോടുകൂടെ നിന്നെ ശുദ്ധിവരുത്തി അവരുടെ തല ക്ഷൌരം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു അവർക്കു വേണ്ടി ചെലവു ചെയ്ക; എന്നാൽ നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു കേട്ടതു ഉള്ളതല്ല എന്നും നീയും ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ ആചരിച്ചു ക്രമമായി നടക്കുന്നവൻ എന്നും എല്ലാവരും അറിയും. ….അങ്ങനെ പൌലൊസ് ആ പുരുഷന്മാരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു പിറ്റെന്നാൾ അവരോടുകൂടെ തന്നെ ശുദ്ധിവരുത്തി ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ ചെന്നു”. (പ്രവൃത്തികൾ 21:23 -26). സുവിശേഷത്തിനുവേണ്ടി “എല്ലാവർക്കും എല്ലാമായിത്തീർന്നു”; ഉപദേശത്തിനു വിരുദ്ധമല്ലാത്ത ചില കാര്യങ്ങളിൽ ചില വിട്ടുവീഴ്ചകൾ ചെയ്യാൻ പൗലോസ് തയ്യാറായി. പൗലോസ് സുവിശേഷത്തിനുവേണ്ടി യെഹൂദ ദേവാലയത്തിൽ നേർച്ച കഴിച്ചു. ചാണ്ടി ഉമ്മൻ മതേതരവാദിയാണെന്നു തെളിയിക്കുവാൻ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ തുലാഭാരം നടത്തി. ചാണ്ടി ഉമ്മനെപോലെ ഏതുമതത്തിൽ വിശ്വസിച്ചാലും രക്ഷയുണ്ട് എന്ന തെറ്റായ ബോധ്യം പൗലോസിനില്ല. കർത്താവായ യേശുവിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കാതെ രക്ഷയില്ല എന്ന സുവിശേഷസത്യം എല്ലാവരിലും, എല്ലാ മതക്കാരിലും എത്തിക്കുക എന്നതായിരുന്നു പൗലോസിന്റെ ഉദ്ദേശം.
